Nur Sürer Brings Women’s Labour Together with Literature at Yeşim Group
Yeşim Group continues to support the value it places on women’s labour and gender equality through cultural, artistic and literary gatherings, in line with its “People First” approach. At the event titled “An Orhan Kemal Reading with the Women of Labour, in Cemile’s Footsteps,” organised in cooperation with Osmangazi Municipality at the Grand Conference Hall, renowned artist Nur Sürer met with approximately 150 Yeşim employees. Osmangazi Municipality Deputy Mayor Mutlu Esendemir, Yeşim Group Corporate Communications and Brand Director Dilek Cesur, Group executives and employees attended the gathering, where women’s labour, solidarity and the struggle for life were explored through Orhan Kemal’s novel Cemile.
Held as part of Osmangazi Municipality’s 2026 Orhan Kemal Year programme and hosted by Yeşim Group, the event featured readings by Nur Sürer from selected passages of the novel. During the discussion moderated by journalist and author Mazlum Vesek, the lives of working people and women’s struggle in social life were addressed. At the end of the event, Osmangazi Municipality Deputy Mayor Mutlu Esendemir presented plaques of appreciation to Nur Sürer, Mazlum Vesek and Dilek Cesur for their contributions to the programme. The gathering concluded with a commemorative photograph.
