Champion Crowned at the Şükrü Şankaya Friendship Tournament

The champion of the Şükrü Şankaya Friendship Tournament, organized under the leadership of the Sports Club, was once again the Düz Boya team, claiming the title for the third consecutive year. The Konfeksiyon Makina Bakım team finished in second place, while Güvenlik Spor secured third place.

The Şükrü Şankaya Friendship Tournament, organized annually as a long-standing tradition, concluded with the final matches played on June 11. In the third-place match held at the PFDD Şükrü Şankaya Football School Facilities, Güvenlik Spor defeated Stok City with a score of 3–1 to secure third place in the tournament.

Following the third-place match, last year’s finalists, Düz Boya and Konfeksiyon Makina Bakım, faced off in the championship match. After an intense contest that ended in a 2–2 draw during regular time, the winner was determined by a penalty shootout. Defeating their opponents 5–4 on penalties, Düz Boya claimed the championship title for the third consecutive year, while Konfeksiyon Makina Bakım finished as runners-up. Among the 12 participating teams, Come Back was awarded the title of Fair Play Team of the Tournament. With an impressive 27 goals, Ahmet Alkan was named Top Scorer, while Serkan Keskin earned the title of Best Goalkeeper for his outstanding saves throughout the tournament.

Speaking at the trophy ceremony following the final match, Yeşim Group CEO Şenol Şankaya said: “We are delighted to have successfully completed the Şükrü Şankaya Friendship Tournament once again, a tradition that we have maintained for many years. In line with the values that my late father, Şükrü Şankaya, always emphasized, I believe that the most meaningful achievement here is sportsmanship itself. We will continue this wonderful tradition with the same enthusiasm in the years to come.”

During the ceremony, trophies were also presented by Yeşim Group executives to the tournament’s Fair Play Team, Top Scorer, and Best Goalkeeper. In addition, plaques of appreciation were awarded to Sports Club Leader Samet Şen, members of the organizing committee, the referees who officiated the tournament, and Özel Hayat Hospital, the tournament’s healthcare sponsor, in recognition of their valuable contributions to the event.
